Within the C5 action of the Life+PINASSA, the company Social Forest has been responsible for planting pine trees to improve the habitat of the native forests of Catalonia. On the Can Ma\u00e7ana<\/a> area, in the Montserrat Mountain Natural Park, the Social Forest team has prepared seed bombs.<\/p>\n

WHAT ARE SEED BOMBS?<\/b><\/h3>\n

Seed bombs\u00a0<\/b>or, in their case,\u00a0seed discs<\/b>\u00a0are\u00a0seed containing balls formed out of soil and clay<\/b>. They are used, for example for\u00a0reforestation projects<\/b>\u00a0or\u00a0guerrilla gardening<\/b>. They are 100% ecological, but very efficient at the same time. Another famous name for seed bombs is \u201cnendo dango<\/b>\u201d, the name given to them by the\u00a0 Japanese rediscoverer\u00a0Masanobu Fukuoka<\/b>. This old sowing technique dates back many thousands of years. Already in Ancient Egypt people used seed bombs to plant food after flooding had destroyed their fields. Fakuoka rediscovered this method and made it famous.<\/p>\n

It is\u00a0a very\u00a0environmentally friendly, cheap and natural sowing system<\/b>\u00a0that protects the seeds from being eaten by forest animals such as birds and mice., The seeds are set free and start to germinate, only when the rain dissolves the balls. The\u00a0soil<\/b>\u00a0given to the seed bombs adds\u00a0nutrients<\/b>\u00a0and helps the plant to grow. Due to this, there is no need to prepare the soil where the plant is supposed to grow in advance and you can save a lot of time and effort.<\/p>\n
